As part of activities marking this year’s yuletide, the
Treasure House of God, Quarry road, Abeokuta, has set aside 25th
December, 2018, to feed not less than 5000 people from all walks of life,
irrespective of religious affiliations or state of origin, at the church
premises.
According to the Media Consultant to the Set Man of the
church, Comrade Adeniyi Adeloye, the church has been running the yearly programme
for several years and many people have benefited from it.
Adeloye said that beneficiaries of the programme have
continued to pour encomiums on the church and the Set Man of the church, Pastor
Adeseye Senfuye, whose watch word is “Live and let Live”, for this kind
gesture.
The theme of the event, according to Adeloye is; “Jesus Feast”,
which is motivated by the teachings of God, as Jesus Christ pioneered the idea
of feasting the multitudes, as evident in biblical account. The event is also
in keeping with the injunctions of Holy Bible and Holy Quran where Christians are
charged to be their brothers’ keeper, and Muslims encouraged giving Zakat to
the needy.
He stated that Pastor Adeseye Senfuye holds a strong belief
that it is humanly logical to give to the needy at all times, especially during
the celebration of birth of Jesus Christ, who paid the supreme price for the
benefit of mankind.
The Media Consultant disclosed that during this year’s event,
the church would feed 5000 people, as against 4000 people which provision were
made for last year.
“The Deacon Kayode Ogunjimi-led committee charged with the
planning of “Jesus Feast”, has already perfected arrangements to ensure it is
without any hiccups”, Adeloye said.
