According to the results released by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abeokuta, President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 281,762 votes to defeat his closest rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 194,655.

Meanwhile, the Ogun East senatorial election has been declared inconclusive by the Returning Officer for the senatorial district, Prof. Chris Nwoka.

At the end of elections in the nine local governments of the senatorial district, the APC candidate, Alhaji Lekan Mustapha polled 84,929 votes, while Mr. Ayoola Sosanwo polled 82,457 votes.

The Returning Officer was about to declare the results officially when pandemonium broke out in the hall due to the cancellation of results of Ward 10, Ajebandele, in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the results were cancelled because the number of voters in one of the polling units exceeded the number of accredited voters.
