My second term will be business unusual - Hon. Adekoya

Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya, who won reelection into the House of Representatives, has assured his constituents that his second term in office will be business unusual.

Hon.Adesegun Adekoya
Hon. Adesegun is currently representing Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

According to him, "the reward for hard work is more work, and therefore, the people of my constituency have challenged me with their overwhelming votes which they freely gave to me".

Adesegun further said, " I am the only Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate elected in Ogun State with highest votes.

"Since 1999, I am the first and only candidate reelected for the second term.

"Therefore, with this record which was made possible by the people of my constituency, I promise to touch their lives more positively than before, because I've been encouraged and spurred to do more for them.

"I am determined to serve them sincerely, conscientiously and with more vigour".

Speaking to journalists after casting his ballot in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections, Hon. Adekoya adjudged the election as free, fair and peaceful.

However, he regretted that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not improve on its performance over the Presidential and National Assembly elections due to some noticeable lapses.

Adekoya said that from the reports he received from other polling units, there was monetary inducement, including vote buying which he thought the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) should have dealt with.

He blamed the police and the EFCC operatives for not making arrest when the vote buying was publicly taking place.
