Ogun Guber poll: INEC declares Dapo Abiodun winner

Prince Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the Ogun State governorship election held on Saturday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer in Ogun State, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka, said that Prince Dapo Abiodun scored a total of 241,670 votes to defeat his main opponent, Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied People's Movement (APM), who scored 222,153.

The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, polled 110,422 votes, while Prince Buruji Kashamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 70,290 votes.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Olayinka, declared Prince Dapo Abiodun the Governor-Elect, having scored majority of the votes cast. 

Meanwhile, the candidate of PDP, Prince Buruji Kashamu, has conceded defeat, as he has congratulated the winner of the election, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
