Oba Adenugba gave the commendation when some notable
indigenes of the town organized a get-together, tagged, “AN EVENING WITH
EBUMAWE”, in his honour at the palace.
The Royal Father acknowledged the support he has been
receiving since his ascension to the throne, which has culminated in his
peaceful reign.
He therefore called on all sons and daughters of the town to
continually give priority attention to progress and development of the town in
all ramifications.
Oba Adenugba appealed to indigenes of the town that are
blessed, to come back home and establish businesses that would create
employment opportunities for the teeming youths of the town.
In his reaction to the get-together organized for him, Oba
Adenugba thanked all the people that facilitated the event, while noting that
each of them had individually in the past played and still playing positive
roles in the development of the town.
He therefore enjoined them to always see Ago-Iwoye as their
primary constituency that needs their attention.
In his opening remark, the coordinator of the get-together,
Mr. Yomi Ogunsanu, disclosed that the event was put together to show their love
and support for the monarch.
He said that organising such event would bring participants
closer to the royal father, where they would have a rare opportunity to
interact with the monarch, and in the process discuss issues that relate to the
development of the town.
Mr. Ogunsanu commended Ebumawe for his giant strides in the
development of the town, while appealing to him to ensure that Ago-Iwoye
continues to enjoy peace and unity under his leadership.
Speaking at the event, Oluomo Femi Bakre, gave kudos to Oba
Adenugba for going extra mile to ensure that Ago-Iwoye is peaceful and united.
He appealed to Ago-Iwoye indigenes to rally round Oba
Adenugba in his efforts to facilitate unprecedented development to the town,
while noting that Ago-Iwoye was lucky to have such a personality as the royal
father.
Also speaking at the event, the duo of Alhaji Liadi Yusuf and
Dr. O.S Osanyinpeju, commended Oba Adenugba for his kind heartedness and
accessibility to all.
They both recalled the passion of Oba Adenugba for the
development of the town, and urged him not to be deterred by the antics of a
few people who may not mean well for the town.
In his goodwill message sent from Germany, Otunba Samson O.
Okulaja (a.k.a Flash), applauded the positive steps taken so far by Oba
Adenugba towards restoring the lost glory of the town.
He advised the monarch to remain focused and not distracted
in his resolve to place Ago-Iwoye on a higher level.
The organizers of the get-together thereafter unanimously
resolved that the event will continue to take place annually on a day preceding
Ileya festival.
