Oba Adenugba made the strong
condemnation on Monday, during a meeting he had with market men and women at
his palace.
The monarch disclosed at the meeting
that he had information that a group in Ago-Iwoye market wanted to create
another market to be known as Obada market.
Oba Adenugba emphasised that the
approved and recognised markets in the town are; the Ago-Iwoye central market
which is serving the dual purpose of 5-day and daily market, as well as other
daily markets at approved locations across the town, in addition to the ancient
Ita-Ale market.

Oba Adenugba directed the leadership
of the market to fully take charge and monitor the activities going on in the
market, while he urged all the market men and women to relate cordially with
the leadership of the market in order to prevent any crisis.
The monarch also called on all Quarter
Chiefs in the town to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the daily markets that are
located in their respective domain.
Speaking at the meeting, the
Iyaloja-elect, Otunba (Mrs.) Ronke Oduneye, apologised to Oba Adenugba for the
misbehaviour of the people behind the illegal Obada market, and assured that
nobody will be allowed to create division under any guise in Ago-Iwoye market.

A youth leader in the market, Mrs
Amoke, also apologised on behalf of the market men and women to the monarch for
whatever wrongdoing they might have committed, and promised that Ago-Iwoye
market will continue to remain united.
All the market men and women at the
meeting thereafter jointly apologised to Oba Adenugba and pledged their loyalty
and support to him.
