OOU honours Gen. Awosanya, as Gov. Abiodun offers automatic employment to best graduating students

Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, on Friday, honoured Maj. Gen. S.A Awosanya with Honourary Doctorate Degree, at its 28th & 29th convocation ceremonies.

Other notable Nigerians that bagged Honourary Doctorate Degrees at the occasion were,  Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, Nigeria's Finance Minister and HRM Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland.

In his address at the occasion, the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, congratulated the 3 notable Nigerians that were honoured, and urged them to continue to contribute to the development of the university and Nigeria at large.

The governor also congratulated all the graduating students for the successful completion of their studies, and charged them to be good ambassadors of the university wherever they go.

Governor Abiodun also offered automatic employment to the 2 best graduating students, Mr. Ajayi Jesulayomi of the 2017/2018 academic session and Mr. Etieh Chinonso Justice of the 2018/2019 academic session.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. (Dr.)  S.A Awosanya, has been eulogised for his exemplary leadership qualities and philanthropic gestures.

At a reception organised for him on Friday, after receiving the Honourary Doctorate Degree, Dr. S.A Awosanya was commended for his immense contributions to the development of his home town, Ago-Iwoye, Olabisi Onabanjo University  and Nigeria at large.

According to Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, Dr. Awosanya is a blessing to Ago-Iwoye and his contributions to the development of the town will forever remain indelible.

A foremost club in Ago-Iwoye, Heritage Brothers Club, presented a plaque of honour to Dr. Awosanya, who is the Patron of the club, at the occasion.

The President of the Club, Oluomo Femi Bakre, lauded Dr. Awosanya for his service to humanity.
