Aminu Ado Bayero succeeds Sanusi as Emir of Kano

Kano State government has announced Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the new emir of Kano.

The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji made the announcement on Monday, after Muhammadu Sanusi ll was dethroned.

The secretary to the state government said the appointment of Aminu Ado Bayero as the 15th Emir of Kano, had earlier been recommended by the four kingmakers of Kano emirate.

Bayero was the emir of Bichi, one of the four newly created emirates.

He is a graduate of Mass Communication from Bayero University Kano.

Meanwhile, the dethroned Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi ll, has been banished to exile in Nasarawa state.
