According to Mrs Efuwape, the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration in Ogun State,  considered it necessary to provide the food items, in view of the fact that people were forced to stay at home, and therefore it behoves on government to provide palliatives for the poor and vulnerable people to enable them cope with the lockdown.

Mrs Efuwape said the beneficiaries of the relief packages are special people with special needs because of their peculiar situation, and that is why the Easter period was chosen for the distribution exercise in order for them to be part of the Easter celebration.

The commissioner eulogised the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his magnanimity and love for the people of the state, by providing the relief packages at this difficult time.

She urged those who are yet to benefit from the relief materials to be patient with government, as the distribution is an ongoing exercise.

Mrs. Efuwape, however, cautioned some people who are in the habit of running after vehicles carrying the food items to desist from doing so, explaining that arrangements have been put in place to deliver the food items to the doorsteps of the beneficiaries.

She assured that Governor Abiodun belongs to all the citizens and residents of Ogun State, and therefore, cannot allow them to suffer any untold hardship.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Dr. Ranti Oladeinde, had earlier conducted newsmen round the various food items to be distributed, such as: Rice, Salt, Sugar, Semovita, Wheat, Vegetable Oil, etc.

The permanent secretary thanked the governor for coming to the aid of the people at this trying times.

In his response to the government's gesture, the spokesperson for the people living with disabilities, Mr. Muhammed Olalekan, commended Governor Abiodun for the food items distributed to them, while calling on him to always remember them from time to time after the coronavirus pandemic.
