COVID-19: FMC Abeokuta staff tests negative, discharged from isolation centre


The Administrative Staff at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, who tested positive for the coronavirus last week has been discharged from the Ikenne Isolation Centre.

After testing twice, the results  returned negative on Wednesday. .

Meanwhile, the results of the samples of the Nurse, another staff of the Centre were being awaited, as she was in high spirits.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that there was wild jubilation at the Centre as the news of the discharge of the Admin staff filtered in.

In a telephone interview, the staff could not hide her joy, while she responded.

"It is true sir, I have just been given a clean bill of health.

"I thank God and my Medical Director who was calling me every day and monitoring my health progress.

"He made good provisions for me and a co-staff here. He is a great leader with eyes full of compassion for all staff", she said.

She equally thanked the entire staff for their prayers.

Reacting, the Medical Director, Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu described the news as cheery, saying, "This is a cheery news to me. This is answer to our prayers. I am very optimistic that the remaining staff over there will soon be discharged"
