Gov Dapo Abiodun

Gov Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State is again mourning another Second Republic Commissioner, late Chief Adeyemi Coker, who served  during the administration of Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, who was the state's helmsman from 1979 to 1983.

Abiodun,  said "this is a dark week for the State".

Chief Coker, the governor said, exemplified industry, courage and confidence.

He added that, "losing these great former public officers - Chiefs Akin Ogunpola and Adeyemi Coker - has denied us their experience and institutional knowledge in statecraft".

Chief David Adeyemi Coker was until his death on Sunday, the Ogboye of Ilaro in Yewa South Local Government Area of the State.

He would have been 90 years old on 26th June and  was a Hon Commissioner under Chief Olabisi Onabanjo from 1979 to 1983  serving in  three different ministries: Economic Planning, Industries as well as Lands & Housing.

He was Head of Public Relations at Guinness Nigeria Plc for many years before his appointment as Hon. Commissioner.
