Alaafin of Oyo and his wives
Indeed, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Alaafin of Oyo is the king with the highest number of wives in Nigeria.
Many of the young ones are in their 30s and 40s but among the 13 wives, Ayaba Abibat Adeyemi is the first wife.
The Alaafin of Oyo disclosed that he never proposed to any of his wives, but then it was their own decision to be with him.
He said; “I did not propose to any of my wives. They desired to be with me because I sent them to school. After their university education, I told them to leave but they refused and insisted on staying with me in the palace as my wives.
Sources revealed that the youngest of them is a fresh graduate.
From the look of things, it seems the Alaafin has a relish for taking care of the women as all of them have made a strong decision to be with him for the rest of their lives.
