Teachers now to retire at 65, as Buhari approves free tuition for teachers' biological children

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved increase in the retirement age of teachers to 65 years.

In the same vein, the president also approved that the biological children of teachers will now enjoy free tuition in public schools, as housing scheme for teachers in all the local government areas in the federation will be put in place.

President Buhari announced these gestures to mark the 2020 World Teachers Day.

Meanwhile, the federal government has directed Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria to commence the process of removing unqualified teachers from teaching profession nationwide.
