Gov Abiodun makes U-turn, rescinds stop work order on Ago-Iwoye roads rehabilitation

Gov Dapo Abiodun

Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has rescinded the order of the state government, stopping the ongoing roads rehabilitation in Ago-Iwoye.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Babatunde Adesina, disclosed this in an interview with Great Achiever Magazine.

Engr. Adesina further informed that the issues surrounding the roads rehabilitation have been amicably resolved among the parties involved.

He said the contractors handling the roads rehabilitation can continue with their work.

Adesina also disclosed that a letter of appreciation will be sent to Hon. Adesegun Adekoya, for bringing dividends of democracy to Ago-Iwoye, while he will be requested to formally write a letter requesting that he wants to work on that roads which belong to the state government. Thereafter, he will be guided to follow the standard specification as laid down by Ogun State government on roads construction, because, nobody can just jump on the state roads and start doing whatever he likes.

The Special Adviser said the controversy generated by the roads rehabilitation could have been avoided if Hon. Adekoya had carried the state government along in his proposals for the roads rehabilitation, just as the state government will carry the federal government along if it wants to work on any federal roads.
