Gov Abiodun wields big stick, stops Ago-Iwoye roads rehabilitation with immediate effect

Gov Dapo Abiodun

Ogun State government under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun has ordered that the ongoing roads rehabilitation in Ago-Iwoye should be stopped with immediate effect.

According to a letter signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Adesina Babatunde, which was addressed to Hon. (Prince) Segun Mojeed Adekoya, who facilitated the roads rehabilitation as his constituency projects, approval for the construction works was not obtained from the Ministry of Works, as the concerned roads belong to state government.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that Engr. Adesina, however, advised Hon. Adekoya to submit to the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, his proposals for the construction/rehabilitation work and wait for state government's approval before he recommences or embarks on any of such mission.

In his reaction to the stop work order, Hon. Adekoya, the Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, said he trusts the governor who is his personal friend of over 23 years that the impasse will be resolved sooner than expected.

Meanwhile, indigenes of Ago-Iwoye have taken to the social media to express their displeasure over the action of the state government which they described as uncalled for.
