Ogun State government has approved the rehabilitation of Igan road in Ago-Iwoye.
Indication to this effect was given by Ogun State Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dare Kadiri (Dare Maba) via his Twitter account.
According to Hon. Kadiri on Twitter, "Ogun State EXCO approved reconstruction of Igan road, Ago-Iwoye and Molusi College road, Ijebu-Igbo, on Tuesday, 1st December, 2020.
The ongoing roads rehabilitation was facilitated as constituency project by Rt. Hon. Adesegun Adekoya, the Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives.
It will be recalled that Ogun State government, on Friday, issued a stop work order on the Ago-Iwoye roads rehabilitation via a letter signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Babatunde Adesina.
Moments later, the stop work order, according to Engr. Adesina was rescinded after the issues surrounding the roads rehabilitation were amicably resolved among the parties involved.
In a letter addressed to Hon. Adekoya on Friday, 27th November, 2020, and signed by Engr. Adesina, Ogun State government appreciated the landmark mission of Hon. Adekoya in facilitating the roads rehabilitation, and enjoined him to submit detailed plan and design of the rehabilitation to Ministry of Works for review and approval in conformity with Ogun standard roads.
In his response, Hon. Adekoya, in a letter signed by him referred the Ministry of Works to liase with Ogun Oshun River Basin Development Authority, which is the federal government agency handling the roads construction for appropriate interface and engagement.
However, in a new twist, the Ogun State EXCO was said to have approved the reconstruction of the same Igan road on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, reactions have continued to trail the latest approval of the state government for the reconstruction of Igan road, which is presently being rehabilitated by the federal government.
