The university community of Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu North local government area of Ogun state, will in few days’ time be a beehive of activities as the House of Representatives Deputy Minority Whip, Rt. Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya formally joins the Diamond Jubilee club.
The experienced grassroots politician and quiet philanthropist whose remarkable tenure at the national assembly has benefitted several communities and individuals beyond Ijebuland has however lined up a week-long activity to make the 60th birthday celebration a memorable one.
Highlights of the activities include: Soccer tournament, Inter-denominational choral competition, Quran competition, commissioning of Ako Onigbagbo Methodist Church, Ako-Matoole as well as commissioning of Ako ultra-modern mosque.
The grand finale of the birthday event, which promises to be a fun-filled one and also attract top dignitaries from all walks of life to the agrarian community of Ago-Iwoye will hold at the open field, Ako Nursery and Primary School, Ako Matoole, Ago-Iwoye, on Sunday, March 21, 2021.
Attacker, as the House of Representatives Principal officer is widely known and addressed beyond political and social circle in Nigeria was born on March 21, 1961.
He started his primary education at Omo Edumare Model School, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State (First School Leaving Certificate) from 1971 to 1975. He thereafter attended Ago-Iwoye Secondary School, for his secondary education between 1975 and 1980.
Aremo Adekoya proceeded to University of Benin, UNIBEN, where he bagged Advanced Diploma in Banking and Finance. He was also at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri for his Post Graduate Diploma, PGD, in Financial Management.
His previous work experience includes Nigeria Bank for Commerce and Industries (N.B.I.C) Lagos State. 1981-1988; Eko International Bank Plc, Lagos State, 1988-1995; Elected Councilor for Ward F2, Somolu Local Government Area Council, Lagos State, 1996; Vice Chairman/Supervisory Councilor For Medical, Health, Agric and Natural Resources,Somolu Local Government Area Council, Lagos State.
