Brig-Gen Adekoya assures of end to insecurity in Ogun as he visits Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye

The Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta, Brig-Gen Adewale Adekoya, has assured of an end to insecurity problem in Ogun State.


Brig-Gen Adekoya gave the assurance on Thursday when he paid a visit to the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba in his palace.


Great Achiever Magazine reports that the Commander, who had earlier visited the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona in his palace, noted that the insecurity situation in Ijebu axis and other parts of Ogun State was intolerable, and therefore, "a formidable shield that cannot be penetrated will be put in place".


He promised to flush out bad elements in Ijebu axis and other parts of Ogun State, while seeking the cooperation of everyone in the fight against insecurity.


Adekoya, who assured of his readiness to work with the police, appealed to members of the public to give information which can be worked on in fighting insecurity, and promised that such information and the identity of the informant will be treated with utmost secrecy.


The Commander, who thanked God for his appointment and also for being an indigene of Ago-Iwoye, advised the youths to enlist in the Nigerian Army, promising to support those who are ready to pursue a career in the military.


He also appealed to parents to allow their children to join the Nigerian Army where bright future awaits them.


In his remarks, Oba Adesina Adenugba described the visit of Brig-Gen Adewale Adekoya as a joy filled home coming, saying that his appointment is a testament to the fact that Ago-Iwoye is a fertile ground for accomplished, tested and trusted professionals in all areas of human endeavours, who are ready to serve at the highest level.


Oba Adenugba advised Brig-Gen Adekoya to redouble his efforts in fighting insecurity, as there will be tough challenges for him, but assured that Ago-Iwoye community will avail him of the needed cooperation and support.


Great Achiever Magazine reports that Ago-Iwoye Council of Obas, market leaders, community leaders and youth leaders were among the dignitaries that welcomed Brig-Gen Adekoya to Ebumawe's palace.
