A prominent Age Group Association in Ijebuland, Egbe Arobayo (Okunrin) Akile Ijebu, has elected new officers to pilot the affairs of the association in the next three years.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that, Egbe Arobayo, under the leadership of Giwa Oluwadamilare Mushafau Muritala, at its 8th Annual General Meeting hosted by Robayo Femi Atoba Lawal at Ijebu-Igbo, on Sunday, 4th April, 2021, elected new officers into the Executive Council.

In a keenly contested election, Robayo Gbenga Ayannusi emerged victorious over his arch rival, Robayo Shuaib Sikirulai to become Akowe Agba.

However, other officers, who emerged unopposed are:

Robayo Adedayo Oderinde Abeleshindogba (Treasurer)

Robayo Kunle Towolawi (PRO)

Robayo Seyi Shodipo  (Social Secretary)

Robayo Oladipupo Oduneye (Director of Protocol)

The new officers were immediately sworn-in by Baamofin Egbe, Barrister Tunji Aregbe, while the Otun Giwa, Otubanjo Niyi, advised the new officers to discharge their responsibilities to the association diligently.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Giwa Egbe, Mushafau Muritala, thanked God for sparing the lives of members to witness the Annual General Meeting.

Giwa Muritala lamented the disruption of the association's lined up activities last year, which was brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He, however, urged members not to despair but brace up for the challenges ahead in order to actualise the various laudable programmes and projects that have been lined up for execution.

Giwa Muritala thanked members for their steadfastness and contributions to the development of the association, while he congratulated the newly elected Executive members on their well deserved victory at the election.
