Police warn Ogun APC over conduct of State Congress

 



Ogun State Police Command has warned that it will not tolerate any act of hooliganism and brigandage before, during and after the State Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheduled to hold at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, on Saturday, 16th October, 2021, reports Great Achiever Magazine.


The police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a press release said: "In view of the forthcoming State congress of the All Progressives Congress Party slated for Saturday 16th of October, 2021, and the credible intelligence at the disposal of Ogun State Police Command, the Command wishes to warn that any act of hooliganism and brigandage before, during and after the congress will not be tolerated.


"In view of this, the Commissioner of Police has deployed large number of policemen to MKO Abiola stadium Kuto, which is the venue of the congress.


"Therefore, anybody who has no business in and around the venue of the congress is by this release warned to stair clear of the place".


Oyeyemi further disclosed that the Command will deal decisively with anybody caught in any act capable of undermining the peace and tranquility being enjoyed in the state, no matter the position or status of such person.


He advised parents and guardians to call their wards to order by counseling them not to allow themselves to be used for political thuggery, as such will be viewed with all seriousness.


Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, while wishing members of the party successful congress, enjoins them to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and exhibit high sense of sportsmanship.
