Hon Adekoya claims victory in Reps primary election, describes any other result as fake

The Deputy Minority Whip, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya, has claimed victory at the People's Democratic Party (PDP) primary election for Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, held in Abigi, headquarters of Ogun Waterside local government, on Sunday, 22nd May, 2022.

The election, which generated so much heat, was conducted by  5-member National Electoral Panel from the PDP's national headquarters, Abuja.

Great Achiever Magazine was reliably informed that, midway into the election, the electoral panel, which came with authenticated list of delegates that would vote at the election, was prevented from continuing with its assignment by loyalists of some aspirants on the ground that the delegates' list was not in their favour.

After a long delay, the electoral panel was said to have rounded off its assignment and collated the result which was forwarded to the national headquarters of the party.

Speaking on the incident, Hon. Adesegun Adekoya claimed that from the result collated, he was the clear winner, and waiting to receive his certificate of return.

Meanwhile, Great Achiever Magazine gathered that aspirants that were aggrieved about the incident that happened at Abigi, resolved to reschedule and conduct another primary election, which took place at Ijebu Mushin in Ijebu East local government, on Monday, 23rd May, 2022.

At the rescheduled primary election, results made available showed that Mr. Kenny Bello scored 58 votes, while Hon. Tele Ogunjobi scored 38 votes. Sunday Adegbesan got 2 votes, Hon Adesegun Adekoya scored 1 vote and Adeyemi Duduyemi scored no vote.

Hon. Adekoya, while reacting to the results declared at the rescheduled primary election held at Ijebu Mushin, said it was fake, null and void.

Adekoya asked: "Where is the copy of the official result issued to them from the National Electoral Panel that was sent to conduct the House of Representatives primaries in Ogun State?

"When did National Working Committee (NWC) of PDP authorise the rescheduled election?

 

"Was the primary election conducted in Abigi officially declared inconclusive by NWC?

"Was any of the 5 member panel officially and statutorily assigned by the NWC present at the rescheduIed Ijebu Mushin 'illegal' venue"?

Hon Adekoya said, by 3rd June, 2022, names of candidates will be sent by PDP to INEC and "we will know who is fooling who".

He said very soon the result of primary election will be announced and certificate of return will soon be issued to the winner, asking where and to whom those who conducted the rescheduled election at Ijebu Mushin will submit their result.
