Prince Feyisayo Soyewo being presented with the Award

It was a roll call of Who is Who in the society on Saturday, 7th May, 2022, as Prince (Dr) Feyisayo Soyewo, MFR, was honoured by Great Achiever Magazine with Lifetime Achievement Award in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

According to the Publisher of Great Achiever Magazine, Yomi Ogunsanu, Prince Soyewo was honoured for his outstanding achievements in life and great contributions to the development of society through his various callings.

Ogunsanu said: "Prince Soyewo is the Executive Chairman of Prestige Insurance Brokers, who has by dint of hard work, perseverance and humility been able to work tirelessly to achieve greatness and impact positively on humanity.

"It is therefore in appreciation of these sterling qualities that Great Achiever magazine has deemed it fit to honour him with Lifetime Achievement Award".

He disclosed that Great Achiever Magazine has honoured several people in the past with various Awards, but the Lifetime Achievement Award is a very unique Award because it is reserved and conferred only on the highly revered elderly distinguished personalities who have successfully attained the peak of their career with visible outstanding achievements and unparalleled contributions to societal development.

The Publisher said: "So far, there are only three past recipients of Lifetime Achievement Award, who are: HRH Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye; Late Senator (Chief) Jubril Martins Kuye, Asiwaju of Ago-Iwoye and Major General S.A Awosanya (rtd), Baba Oba of Ago-Iwoye. Today, Prince (Dr) Feyisayo Soyewo will join the roll call of the eminent personalities".

He said Prince Soyewo was carefully chosen and found worthy and deserving of the honour being bestowed on him, adding that the idea of honouring people of accomplishments was borne out of the need to encourage them to continue to do more, while acknowledging their outstanding performance and contributions to the development of society through their God given resources and positions.

Ogunsanu therefore called on Nigerians to cultivate the habit of appreciating and commending people when they have done well, saying that this would serve as motivation to them and inspiration to others, particularly the young ones who are aspiring to be like them.

He congratulated Prince Soyewo for leaving his footprints on the sands of time, noting that his achievements in life, immense contributions to the advancement of humanity and humble disposition have earned him the Award.

The Publisher advised Nigerians to remember that whatever they do, whether in their private or public lives, people are watching them, and honour is a way of expressing society’s approval for one’s good deed.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Maj. Gen. S.A Awosanya (rtd), congratulated Prince Feyisayo Soyewo for being found worthy of the honour bestowed on him.

He also commended Great Achiever Magazine for the Award, which he said was long overdue and well-deserved.

Awosanya described Prince Soyewo as a living legend whose philanthropic activities cut across different strata of the society and extended beyond his place of birth, Ago-Iwoye.

He also acknowledged the various contributions of Prince Soyewo to the Insurance profession and nation building, which earned him national honour of Member of the Federal Republic, MFR, while urging the people to emulate his good deeds.

In their goodwill messages, Engr. Femi Olukoya and Col. Demola Onalaja (rtd), congratulated Prince Feyisayo Soyewo for being honoured with the Award. They urged him not to relent in doing all the good things that qualified him for the Award.

In his response, Prince Feyisayo Soyewo, who appreciated the guests at the occasion for all that they put in to celebrate with him and made him feel great, said he accepted the Award, believing that it will encourage him to do greater things that will excite his well wishers and the good people that God surrounded him with.

He dedicated the Award to all the good people who kept encouraging him daily for greater achievements, adding that his message to the good people that witnessed the Award ceremony was for them to look for ways to be good to people at all times.

Soyewo emphasised that being good to people was better than preaching sermon, while being kind, generous and compassionate speak louder than any words.
