Three policemen have been killed and one policeman has been reported unaccounted for after gunmen opened fire on their moving patrol van in Enugu.
The attack happened on Wednesday night at the popular Block Bus Stop on the usually lively Chime Avenue of New Haven in Enugu metropolis
Eyewitnesses told ait.live that the gunmen who operated in a Lexus SUV suddenly opened fire on the moving police patrol van, killing three policemen.
Unconfirmed accounts say, a fourth policeman is still missing at the time of filing this report.
Enugu State Police Command spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe, who confirmed the attack said an intensive manhunt is ongoing to track down the attackers.
