Alhaji Safiriyu Kazeem becomes Balogun Musulumi of Ogun State

A prominent businessman and philanthropist, Aare (Alhaji) Safiriyu Kazeem, has been appointed as the Balogun Musulumi of Ogun State.


Great Achiever Magazine reports that Alhaji Kazeem was conferred with the Islamic title by Ogun State League of Imams and Alfas.


The letter of appointment of Alhaji Kazeem as the first Balogun Musulumi of Ogun State was presented to him at his Ago-Iwoye residence at a brief ceremony held on Sunday, 30th October, 2022.

The Mufty of Ogun State League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Mikail Shile Rufai, while presenting the letter of appointment to Alhaji Kazeem, said, the esteemed and valuable personality, as well as records of exemplary and purposeful leadership of Alhaji Kazeem among his people were some of the criteria that qualified him for the title.


Alhaji Rufai emphasised that Alhaji Kazeem's positive touch in the spiritual world of Islam and Muslims within and outside his domain attracted the League to choose him as the Balogun Musulumi of Ogun State.

He prayed Allah to continue to bless the new Balogun Musulumi of Ogun State with robust health and ever increasing wealth and joy on his children.


Alhaji Rufai stated that it is the hope of the League and all Muslims in Ogun State that Alhaji Kazeem will justify the confidence reposed in him by propagating Islam and peacefully defend Muslims with the God given resources at his disposal.

Prior to the presentation of letter of appointment as Balogun Musulumi of Ogun State to Alhaji Kazeem, the Ijebuland branch of League of Imams and Alfas, also presented a letter of conferment of the Islamic title of, "Fakharu L Islam of Ijebuland" to him.


In his presentation of the letter, the Secretary of Ijebuland League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Abdul Ganiy Ejalonibu, who is also the Chief Imam of Molipa, Ijebu Ode, said Alhaji Kazeem was conferred with the title in recognition and appreciation of his immeasurable contributions to the development of Islam within and outside of Ijebuland.

The new Balogun Musulumi of Ogun State, Aare (Alhaji) Safiriyu Kazeem, in his response to the Islamic titles bestowed on him, thanked Almighty Allah and the League of Imams and Alfas for finding him worthy of the great honour.


Alhaji Kazeem assured that he will live up to expectations and justify his consideration for the titles.

He prayed Allah to grant him long life, good health and the resources needed to continue to serve humanity.


Alhaji Kazeem thanked all his friends and well wishers who were present at the occasion.


Alhaji Safiriyu Kazeem disclosed to Great Achiever Magazine that a date will be announced soon when he will be officially turbaned as the Balogun Musulumi of Ogun State.

Speaking with Great Achiever Magazine at the occasion, the Olori Omooba of Ago-Iwoye, Prince (Dr) Feyisayo Soyewo, MFR, congratulated Alhaji Kazeem for the honour bestowed on him, adding that he was not surprised that the League of Imams and Alfas found him worthy of the title as a result of his benevolence and acts of philanthropism.


He urged Alhaji Kazeem to continue his good works as God will always reward him for his good deeds.


Earlier in his remarks, the Wazeeru Muslumi of Ijebuland, Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi, congratulated Alhaji Safiriyu Kazeem for becoming the first Ago-Iwoye and Ijebuland indigene to be appointed as the Balogun Musulumi of Ogun State.

Ogunjobi said he was very happy and proud that Alhaji Kazeem, whom he described as a mentor and worthy brother, was found highly qualified for the title.


Great Achiever Magazine reports that Aare (Alhaji) Safiriyu Kazeem is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SAF Petroleum Limited among many other businesses.


Some of the dignitaries that were present at the occasion included; Olori Adenike Adenugba, who represented Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, Alhaji Tunde Olufowobi, Alhaji Aranse, Alhaji Wale Olufowobi, Alhaji Rotimi Raheem, Alhaji S.A Adesanya, Mr Rotimi Mujib Falewe, Alhaji Hakeem Arikewuyo, Alhaji Imran Adeyemi.
