Pelican gets Ogun govt approval for Farm Estate, moves to site to deliver infrastructures.

Ogun State government has given approval to Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited to establish Farm Estate, the first of its kind, at Egbeda axis in Kobape area of the state, Great Achiever Magazine reports.

The Chief Executive Officer, Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, promoter of Pelican Valley Estate, Pelican Brief Estate, Pelican Ecostay Apartments and Pelican's Greenish Acres Farm Estate, Dr Babatunde Adeyemo, disclosed this to newsmen during physical establishment of the Farm Estate layout and drainages at the Farm Estate's location.

Dr Adeyemo said the Estate has gone through several soil tests and environmental impact assessments before it was approved by the state government, noting that it would enable easy access to fresh farm products and cocoa plantations as well.

"Pelican Greenish Acres farm is the first Farm Estate in Ogun to get the approval of the state government in the last four years.

"We are not leaving any stone unturned because we are going beyond agriculture alone, as we are partnering with Nigeria Institute of Cocoa Research (NICR) for Cocoa plantation which will be insured", he said.

Adeyemo said the Estate would not just plant Cocoa but also harvest, process and export to earn in foreign exchange, stressing that keying into the project would be a wonderful opportunity for all prospective and existing clients.

The real estate mogul noted that the major benefit of the approved layout is the possibility of change of use in the future, explaining that it would be a great inheritance for children and future generations because it is also largely on land banking.

According to Adeyemo, "Farming can be likened to icing on the cake. When you have a cake and you are still eating the icing, then in the same vein, farming is the icing and the cake is the land; a land banking. We are sharing boundary with the government industrial zone of which land has been sold for N100million per hectare.

"The beauty of the real estate is to have something you are eating, while your land is appreciating, so you won't be vulnerable to rush to sell your land. By the time the industries start working we would be able to make available to them a conducive environment to live for the workers", he concluded.

Dr Adeyemo pointed out that the Pelican greenish acre Farm Estate is a harnessed area to the Agro-Cargo Airport, which is just about 15-kilometre drive from the estate to the Airport, adding that the Estate area was zoned as an agriculture Area by the State Government. "So the vision is there and we are taking full advantage of it".

"It is not too late for anybody to key into this vision. As they used to say; heaven helps those who help themselves and this is a reasonable investment for reasonable investors to take advantage of it".
