APC plans for leadership of 10th National Assembly

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has started the process of fashioning the leadership of the 10th National Assembly to fit its dreams and aspirations.

The party has therefore fixed a meeting with Senators-elect and House of Representatives Members-elect on Monday at the Presidential Villa Abuja.

There are strong indication that the APC leadership will advise the potential members of the National Assembly on the way forward as regards the leadership of the 10th Senate and the House of Representatives.

A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Felix Morka says the President-elect, Bola Tinubu and the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima will attend the parley.

The meeting will afford the incoming President along with his Vice and National Assembly members-elect from the party to synergise.

The harmonisation of thought has even become necessary following the multi-party composition of the yet to be inaugurated 10th National Assembly.

The meeting will also help to reach a decision to produce core loyalists of the party or the President-elect as leaders in the National Assembly to avoid the drama of the 8th National Assembly in 2015.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared 98 out of 109 senatorial seats with APC winning 57 seats, PDP 29; Labour Party 6, SDP and NNPP 2 each then YPP and APGA 1 each.

For the Green chamber, the electoral body declared 325 out of 360 seats with the APC clinching 162 seats; PDP 102, Labour Party 34, NNPP 18, APGA 4; ADC and SDP 2 each while YPP secured 1.
