Comrade Tunde Awobona sworn-in as new ACDC Chairman

A retired school principal and community leader, Comrade Awotunde Awobona, has been sworn-in as the new Chairman of Ago-Iwoye Central Development Council (ACDC).

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Saturday, 6th May, 2023, at Ago-Iwoye City Hall.

Comrade Awobona was sworn-in alongside other newly elected Executive Council (EXCO) members of ACDC.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that the inauguration of the new EXCO members was sequel to their individual victory at the recently conducted election to usher in their tenure.

The names of the new EXCO members and their positions are: 

*1) Chairman*:- Comrade Awobona Awotunde Adetola from Egbe Bobagunte.

*2) 1st Vice Chairman*:- Mrs Ifedayo Oluwakemi Nike from Egbe Tobalase.

*3) 2nd Vice Chairman*:- Prince Taiwo Olawale Nodiru from Ibipe Community

*4) General Secretary*:- Mr Alli Oluwasesan Bamako from Icon Gents Club.

*5) Assistant General Secretary*:- Mr Awobona Samuel Oludare from Ago Iwoye Youth Club.

*6) Financial Secretary*:- Mrs Bolanle A. Osogun from Egbe Bobasanya.

*7) Treasurer*:- Mr Kolawale Wasiu from Egbe Tobalase Prestige

*8) Internal Auditor*:- Mr Gegeowo Taiwo from Egbe Tobalase.

*9) Chief Whip*:- Mrs Oduneye Abosede Afolashade from Egbe Bobagunwa.

*10) Ex-Officio*:- Mrs Bantale Wasilat Olurombi from Egbe Jagunmolu.

*11) PRO/Social Secretary*:- Vacant.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Awobona thanked God for the successful inauguration and promised on behalf of his EXCO members to run open door administration that will enable development of Ago-Iwoye centrally.

The new Chairman assured of building on the achievements of the previous administrations, while stating that his administration will work harmoniously with Prince Segun Kaka, the immediate past Vice Chairman and Acting Chairman of ACDC to complete the ongoing 20 lock up shops at the City Hall which he (Kaka) initiated.

Comrade Awobona disclosed that Ago-Iwoye Community Hospital will be reopened on Monday with two nurses and three security men on the payroll of ACDC, while efforts are ongoing on registration and inauguration of Board of Governors and Management Board of the hospital.

He thanked Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba and other prominent indigenes of the town for their support over the years, noting that ACDC under his leadership will be reformed and revitalized to work in tandem with the set objectives of its founding fathers.

Awobona commended the immediate past Chairman of ACDC, Daniel Oluwatosin, for coming from the United Kingdom to be part of the inauguration ceremony.
