The Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi says reopening of borders in the country will go a long way in stabilizing the economy of Nigeria, just as he commended the appointment of a new Comptroller General of Customs which he says will bring sanity to the service.
Senator Fadahunsi, who stated this at an event in his hometown, Ilase-Ijesa, described the appointment of former CG Ahmed Ali as an aberration, expressing optimism that the new Comptroller General has the requisite experience to change the customs service for optimal performance.
Fadahunsi lamented the prolonged closure of borders by the immediate past administration, which he noted did more damage to the nation’s economy.
He also expressed optimism that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration has the capacity to change the narrative of the nation’s economy.
