President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate review of planned N8,000 conditional cash transfer for vulnerable households following concerns “expressed by Nigerians against it”.
In a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy, Dele Alake, Tinubu has also directed that the “whole gamut of palliative package of government be unveiled to Nigerians”. The President explains that the controversial N8,000 cash programme is not the only item designed to bring succour after fuel subsidy removal.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government is to immediately release fertilisers and grains to approximately 50 million farmers and households in all 36 States and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
