Ogun NUJ criticises Gov Abiodun over unfulfilled promises

Gov Dapo Abiodun

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, on Thursday, berated Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun over his failure to fulfill numerous promises made to the Council.

The Council at its monthly Congress held on Thursday, 28th March, 2024, which was presided over by the Council Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, listed some of the unfulfilled promises to include: deliberate removal of the Council's nominees whose names were forwarded to the governor upon his request since August 2023, from the list of appointees; renovation of the Olusegun Osoba hall at Iwe Iroyin Press Center; construction of a 750-Seater Ultra-Modern Hall at the NUJ site, Leme; allocation of land for the purpose of the construction of the first ever Ogun NUJ Journalists Estate.

As a way of showing its displeasure to Governor Abiodun, the Council directed its members to blacklist all reporting of the governor's appointees (Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Advisers, Special Assistants, and others) in the state.
