Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD), the former governor of Ogun State, have congratulated Otunba (Dr) Alex Onabanjo on his installation as Asiwaju of Ago-Iwoye, the event which will hold on Saturday, 20th April, 2024, at Ago-Iwoye.
Great Achiever Magazine reports that Governor Abiodun, in a congratulatory letter sent to Otunba Alex Onabanjo, said: "On behalf of my family, the Government, and good People of Ogun State, I write to extend our heartfelt felicitations on the occasion of your installation as the Asiwaju of Ago-Iwoye by His Royal Highness, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, scheduled for Saturday, 20th April, 2024".
Abiodun noted that the prestigious Asiwaju title being conferred on Otunba Onabanjo is undoubtedly a testament to his noble character as a man of extraordinary integrity, affirming that the conferment is indeed a well-deserved honour and a testimonial to his life of dedicated service to his people.
He said: "That you have been found worthy of the important position is a royal endorsement of your sterling leadership qualities, essential for unifying and rallying the most civilized and enlightened people of Ago-Iwoye towards enduring development.
"I wish to place on record my genuine excitement as I rejoice with you and your wonderful family on this auspicious occasion. My prayer is that God will preserve you for many more years, in sound health, so that you may continue to be a source of inspiration to the younger generations", Governor Abiodun concluded.
In another congratulatory letter sent to Otunba Alex Onabanjo, the former governor of Ogun State, Otunba (Engr) Gbenga Daniel, said he warmly felicitate Otunba Alex Onabanjo as he is set to be installed with the royal title of Asiwaju of Ago-Iwoye by HRH Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, on Saturday, 20th April, 2024.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel said: "Your selection for this prestigious title while succeeding the last holder, Late Chief (Dr) Jubril Martins-Kuye, a former Minister of State for Finance and Minister of Commerce and Industry, did not come to me as a surprise. You have been a silent philanthropist and a successful entrepreneur with a Midas touch across the various sectors of the Nigerian economy.
"You have made notable indelible mark in the records of Ago-Iwoye considering your immense contributions towards her socio-economic growth and you also impacted positively on the educational infrastructural development of almost all the tertiary institutions in Ijebuland. No doubt, the Ebumawe-in-Council made the best decision of your selection", Daniel reiterated.
Otunba Gbenga Daniel prayed that the good Lord shall grant Otunba Alex Onabanjo the wisdom, knowledge and the strength to discharge his responsibility in this new role.
