The Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, HRH Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, on Saturday, 4th May, 2024, commissioned the newly built Ago-Iwoye Leadership Development Center (ALDC).
Oba Adenugba thanked God that the Center was commissioned during the ongoing celebration of his 20th Coronation Anniversary, which was an indication that more good things will continue to come to Ago-Iwoye during his reign, praying that the Center will fulfill the purpose of its establishment.
The Founder of ALDC, Akinwande Ademosu, said the Center is an innovative initiative created and managed by the TAIDE FOUNDATION, which was established in honour of his late mother, Alhaja Taibat Ademosu, to help develop and nurture the potential of the next generation "in our community".
Ademosu, who is the Co-Founder/CEO of Bravewood Finance Company, said: "Our goal is to equip young individuals with the essential skills they need to succeed, including soft skills, technical training, and leadership development.
"This will help improve their lives, reduce social problems, and drive economic growth in our town".
He disclosed that the Center has three objectives and focus areas which are: Soft Skills Acquisition - aimed at helping young individuals develop effective communication, administration, sales & marketing, and problem-solving skills, which also focuses on enhancing their life balance and time management skills; Technical Training - through hands-on training in entrepreneurship, agriculture, and vocational skills such as make-up, tailoring, and weaving, which will foster innovation and creativity in technology and digital literacy; Leadership Development - which aims to cultivate visionary leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making, while encouraging social responsibility, community engagement, and volunteerism.
Great Achiever Magazine reports that the programmes and activities of the Center include workshops, seminars, mentorship and coaching, internships and apprenticeships, community service projects, and entrepreneurship incubation and support.
The Founder of ALDC said young individuals who participate in the Center's programmes can benefit in several ways, including improved self-esteem and confidence, enhanced employability and career prospects, increased community engagement and social responsibility, economic growth through entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as reduced social problems such as unemployment and substance abuse.
In order to ensure achievement of its goals, the Center has an implementation strategy that includes partnerships with local organizations, businesses, government agencies, collaboration with experienced trainers, mentors, and coaches with good facilities, technology, scholarships, and funding opportunities.
The Center is also committed to continuously evaluate and improve its programmes.
In a chat with Great Achiever Magazine, Akinwande Ademosu said the ALDC will be a beacon of hope for the next generation "in our community".
He noted that by focusing on soft skills acquisition, technical training, and leadership development, "we can empower young individuals to become agents of positive change, driving economic growth and social progress in our town".
"Together, we can build a brighter future for Ago-Iwoye and beyond", Ademosu concluded.
