Minimum Wage: Organised Labour not aware of N105,000 FG offer

The organised Labour in Nigeria has said it is not aware of any N105,000 minimum wage proposal by the Federal Government.

Labour also stated that the N105,000 being peddled around has not been presented to the Minimum Wage Tripartite Committee for consideration by parties.

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, spoke to AIT’s Abulu Osemuaghu, on his way out of the venue of the meeting, with ongoing discussions among the Government team

The Government team is yet to clarify the N105,000 purported minimum wage proposal.

However, the Minister of State for Labour, Nkeiru Onyejeocha, gave some updates on ongoing talks, stating that progress was being made.

As Nigerians await a figure for a new minimum wage, at the moment the N105,000 purportedly pushed by the Government in the social media is the only figure to hold on to now, while negotiations continue.
