Joint Action Committee, JAC of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU has given the Federal Government two weeks to pay its members their four months withheld salaries.
The JAC has also threatened to shutdown universities and inter-university centres if the government fails to pay the withheld salaries at the expiration of the ultimatum on July 5.
The two non-teaching staff unions, in a letter to the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, accused the government of neglect and insincerity to pay withheld May to August 2022 salaries.
In the letter, which was signed by the NASU General Secretary, Peter Adeyemi and SSANU President, Mohammed Ibrahim, the two unions said they could no longer guarantee industrial harmony in the universities.
