A meeting between the Federal Government and the Executives of two non teaching staff unions of Nigerian Universities has failed to end the ongoing indefinite strike by the workers.
The meeting which was presided by the immediate past Minister of State for Education and currently the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs, Yusuf Sununu did not reach any conclusions on the demands of the workers.
Top among the demands are the payment of the four months withheld salaries since 2022 and the renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/University based unions agreement.
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) began an indefinite strike on Monday, October 28, after several notices.
