Senate stops Wike from further demolition of structures in FCT

The Senate has directed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to immediately halt further demolitions of structures in the FCT, except for those authorized by a court of competent jurisdiction.

This suspension will remain in effect until an ad hoc committee established by the Senate evaluates the legitimacy of such demolitions and completes its investigation.

The committee, chaired by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, consists of seven other members.
